English Computer Teacher Creates Graphic Designs that Mimic Real World Objects

Her classroom is the Internet, and her students are there to learn how to better use Ulead PhotoImpact. Rosie Hardman-Ixer has produced more award-winning tutorials than we can count.

“Once I know what I am trying to achieve I work at it in PhotoImpact until I find the easiest or most interesting way of achieving it,” Rosie says of her tutorial creations.

Rosie, who has done everything from singing and songwriting, to traveling the world, first became interested in graphic design when her husband brought home a personal computer for his business. She started to focus her creativity in graphic design using PhotoImpact in September 2000.

Combining a vivid imagination with PhotoImpact allows Rosie to create art that often mimics the real world. Rosie emphasizes, “Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to create something in PhotoImpact that is almost indistinguishable from the real object.”

Some visitors to her Web site have actually asked to purchase her work not knowing that they are actually images and not real objects. Rosie’s adeptness at using PhotoImpact led her to create images of stained glass such as a Tiffany lamp, as well as Indian mandellas and more. Rosie also has a large, free-resource site for PhotoImpact at http://www.rosiehardman.com/rosie.htm.

Her coveted graphics can be bought (for exclusive use) for a price but, with Rosie’s masterful tutorials and your own imagination, you might just be able to produce some great artwork of your own.

Take advantage of these step-by-step design tips by visiting her wonderful Web site, http://www.rosiespitutorials.com/introduction.htm.
