STV Productions Uses MediaStudio Pro to Edit Footage for NASCAR Teams and TV Stations

Sacramento-based STV Productions is a dynamic production house that creates professional, broadcast quality digital video productions. With clients ranging from NASCAR teams to overnight news producers at local TV stations, Owners, Terry Toller and Michael Bonomo, rely on MediaStudio Pro to edit all productions.

"The NASCAR clients love the special effects and blue screens we create with MediaStudio Pro," says Toller, who has been using MediaStudio Pro for five years.

For news, both Toller and Bonomo, edit footage quickly using MediaStudio Pro to make tight deadlines. As forest fire season fast approaches in Northern California, they will be at the front lines making video packages available to local stations and networks.

"Editing in the field is essential to providing outstanding video news service. Our reputation will be riding on Media Studio Pro 6.5 with confidence," emphasizes Toller.

Search for the Perfect NLE
Toller started using Ulead MediaStudio Pro with version 2.5. Over the first couple of years he also tried other software. He found that he wasted a lot of money in those days, chasing a better NLE software, "… I am now using Ulead's Media Studio Pro 6.5 and love it!"
"Ulead makes it easy to produce video with effects that used to require a roomful of special, very expensive equipment," says Toller. "With MediaStudio Pro 6.5, we achieve the same or even better results."

Spreading the Word
Terry frequently demonstrates MediaStudio Pro 6.5 to others in the industry and finds that many of them recognize the power and value of the software. "I think that the titler is the first thing that sells them. It offers so many options not found in some of the 'industry standard' software. But when I demonstrate Video Paint and make lightning hit a NASCAR racecar on the track and explode, everyone loves it."

Film to Videotape
After shooting for television since 1972, Toller was forced to switch to videotape in 1980. "Ever since that first day of shooting videotape, I hated it! But now I use DV formats, Fire wire and Ulead. At last, video makes sense!"

Low Learning Curve
Toller's partner, Michael Bonomo, is an accomplished photographer but wasn't familiar with video editing. With MediaStudio Pro's low learning curve, Terry was able to teach him how to edit within a couple of hours.

"Ulead offers an excellent product for professionals and beginners alike. I honestly think Ulead should repackage Media Studio Pro, rename it and sell if for three times the money," Terry concludes enthusiastically.
