Winners of  MediaStudio Pro "Snapshot in Time"

Peter Burchert is a long-time member of the online MediaStudio Pro User Group (MUG-SW), and coordinator for the "Snapshot in Time" project.

The MediaStudio Users Group has proven itself to be the premier support forum for MSP. The depth of knowledge and support in this forum is second to none. Everyone is made to feel welcome and help is freely given.

In 2004, the idea for a collaborative project between the members was first mooted, and "Snapshot in Time" was born.

Peter writes, "In today's world of internet communications, an idea can spread around the world with positive results. Such is the case with the Snapshot in Time (SiT) 2005 project.

“The aim of the SiT projects is to provide an outlet for users of Ulead MediaStudio Pro to show off their talents and share something of their lives and hobbies with their peers. It is open to everyone regardless of their experience. The two main criteria are that it be filmed in a specific time frame and edited in Ulead MediaStudio Pro.

For this years' project, each participant produced a 4-minute video clip, which had to be filmed during a specific month in 2005, and edited in MediaStudio Pro. All the entries were then collected and compiled on one DVD: a unique “Snapshot in Time” from around the world, all produced on the same editing software. Topics ranged from skiing runs in the Alps, fishing in Australia , to making maple syrup the old fashioned way.

In a show of support for the SiT projects, Ulead set up a panel of judges and donated awards. The award this year was Ulead's fresh-out-the-box DVD MovieFactory 5, the first consumer software to deliver HD DVD authoring.

Said Tobie Openshaw, Ulead coordinator: “This year saw a great crop of diverse videos and interesting perspectives. Everyone has a story to tell. These guys prefer to tell it with Ulead.”
