When I open the Capture Video window, the TV picture does not display. The Country/Region parameter also defaults to 81 and cannot be changed. How can I resolve this? |
A: |
Copy "CountryCode.zip" to the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead Photo Explorer\8.0, then right-click and unzip it to the same folder. Your PC should prompt you and ask if you want to overwrite some files. Click Yes. This should resolve the issue.
NOTE: The above path is only for Win XP/2000. If your OS is Win 98/Me, please change the path to C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead Photo Explorer\8.0\Ulead.dat\ |

When I do a burning, an error message "SAO-2336-SPTI-2A-02-03-0C-00" is displayed during the burning process, how can I do to get rid of it? |
A: |
- Unzip this "ULcdrSetup.zip" to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD directory.
- Launch the ULcdrSetup.exe and check "Use-Track-At-Once CD writing mode for VCD or SVCD".
- Close the exe file.
- Burn the video again.
This problem is caused by some burners being incompatible with session-at-once (SAO) recording. "Track-At-Once" is the most reliable way to burn a CD per past experience, and some burner's firmware just can not use Session-At-once in a reliable way. The disadvantage of "Track-At-Once" is the linking loss sectors in the track gap area, which may affect the playback compatibility for some VCD players (although this affects very few). |

How can I add one or more music files? |
A: |
In the Photo Explorer 8 SlideShow Storyboard, you can drag the .mp3 or .wav directly to the background music track. If you want to add more than one audio file, all you have to do is decide from which photo you'd like to start playing from first and then just drag the audio file to that place. |

Why does the picture/image quality become poor when it is being altered via a way such as applying "remove red eye” feature... etc? |
A: |
When you make any alterations on a picture/image, Photo Explorer takes the default settings of each image format to regenerate a new edited image, so to retain high quality, we recommend that you change this default to as high quality as possible. Following is an example of jpg file. For the other format, please just follow this rule.
- Select a .jpg photo first, and then select the "Convert Image Files..." from the submenu of the Tool command.
- Then, select JPG (JPEG file interchange format) from the drop down list of the "Convert file format to:", then click the "Option" button and change the Image quality from default to the "High quality"(100).

When I try to install the Photo Explorer 8 ESD version, some error messages such as "Please Insert disk 1 - layout.bin", “-5005:0x08--70002” and others appear. How do I get around this? |

Why I can’t add my description in some jpeg files with Exif information? |
A: |
There are two reasons, which might cause this problem:
- The Exif jpeg file has the "read-only" attribute.
- The Exif information within that jpeg file is corrupt.
Therefore on number 1, you can disable the checkbox - "Read-only" in "Attributes" via "File > File Properties" to fix it. And on number 2, you need to check whether this Exif information is OK or not via "Tools > Modify Camera Information (Exif)" first. If you cannot open that dialog box to see its properties, then that would mean you have a jpeg with corrupted Exif Information so that you can’t add your description in that file.
