  • Why can't I see the menu theme templates being previewed in the list of the Gallery tab of PictureShow 4 in step 2-Themes section?
  • How can I add extra slideshow thumbnails on my menu to preview the rest of my slideshows on the main menu?
    • Unfortunately, you cannot customize menus in PictureShow 4. You can only choose from the available theme templates in the program.
  • How do I access the new customize Pan & Zoom feature in PictureShow 4?
    • Go to Theme>Slideshow>Audio & Effect . Select the picture you want to apply the Pan & Zoom effect and click the 2 nd icon below the picture. Select Custom on the Pan & Zoom window then click the Custom button to show the customize Pan & Zoom control window.
  • How do I make the slideshow continue playing the next slideshow instead of going back to the main menu?
    • Go to Preferences (File>Preferences or press F6). In the Preferences dialog box, go to Output Settings then select Continue to play the next clip in After playback and click OK .

This is also available in the Theme>Gallery step. Locate the Options button found at the lower-left corner of the program just below the Preview Window.
  • How can I change the thumbnail preview for my slideshows in the menu?
    • In the Organize step, select the slideshow you want to change the thumbnail image in the Slideshow list and then in the Slide panel, choose the picture you want to use as its thumbnail. Right-click on the picture and select Set as Slideshow Thumbnail.
  • When I don't add transitions to a slideshow and burn it using the VCD format, the quality looks better than when I add transitions to my slideshow. Why is that?
    • This is because your transition effects have to match with your picture's frames that causes the degradation of quality. In VCD format, you only have MPEG-1 settings with quality such as 352x240 (NTSC) or 352x288 (PAL) unlike in DVDs that has resolution up to 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL) of quality video.
  • How do I add background music using my Audio CD?
    • In the Theme step, switch to the Menu tab then under Background audio, click the Select a background audio button. In the pop-up menu, select Add/Change Audio for this Page then locate the audio CD from the window and choose the track you want to use as your background audio from the CD.

    • If you have the full version of PictureShow 4, you can add as much photos as you want depending on the size of the disc or media you're using. You can monitor the project's allocated size using the indicator found at the bottom of the program.
Burning
  • When burning the slideshow to a disc, it freezes and stops at a certain percentage then shows an error message that says the program conflicts with the LXDVDparser.dll and then the program shuts down?
  • I'm trying to create a slideshow with only a few photos and during the burn phase under Total Progress: it goes from 'creating disc image file' to 'writing on disc' at 71% then an XP message pops up saying the program has encountered an error and it shuts down.
