Q:
 When I try to access the thumbnails features in compositions or objects, why I get the warning message creating class not registered failed and cannot use the component?
A:

This problem may be caused by the fact that these compositions or objects do not achieve the successful registration to the system during installation, so could you please try the following suggestions:

  1. Please download this file "c3d35.bat" and copy it to the folder which you installed COOL 3D 3.0. (For Example, C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead COOL 3D 3.0) .
  2. Then you copy a file (regsvr32.exe) from Windows\System under Win 98, Me (or WinNT\System under Win 2000, or Windows\System32 under Win XP) to the same folder as step 1).
  3. Execute that bat file. You can open Windows Explorer then double-click the file to launch it. Or you can also execute it in MS-DOS mode.

 I upgraded to Windows® XP from Windows® 98 but I cannot run Ulead software anymore. Why?
A:

You need to login to Windows® XP as the Power-User or Administrator in order to run Ulead software.
Q:
 I upgraded my Ulead COOL 3D 2.5 to version 3.0. After I installed 3.0 I started to reinstall PLUG-IN MADNESS II but I received the following error message: The installer cannot find Ulead COOL 3D 2.0 or Ulead COOL 3D 2.5 in your system. Please install the main program first and try installing the plug-in again. What should I do?
A:

Your PLUG-IN MADNESS II is not detecting the new version 3.0 of Ulead COOL 3D. We have an updated PLUG-IN MADNESS II available for free for current PLUG-IN MADNESS II owners. To obtain this update, please e-mail info@ulead.com with PLUG-IN MADNESS II and Ulead COOL 3D 3.0 in the subject heading.

Please include your full name and a copy of your purchase receipt (copy & paste your electronic purchase record) stating when & from where you purchased PLUG-IN MADNESS II.

 When I try to access Online Help or use any of the help functions in my download version of Ulead COOL 3D 3.0 I receive the following error message:
"Cannot find the C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead COOL 3D 3\U3DEDIT3.HLP file. Do you want to try to find this file yourself?" What does this mean?
A:
 In order to minimize the download version download time we've streamlined the program, so it does not automatically come with everything on the CD-ROM version. Once you've installed Ulead COOL 3D 3.0, you'll need to download free extra components (such as the Help files) to complete your program using the "Free Downloads" button on your Standard Toolbar and select "New 3.0 Users".

Q:
 When I upgrade to Ulead COOL 3D 3.0, it asks me to first uninstall my previous version of Ulead COOL 3D. Should I continue? How will the installer allow me to upgrade?
A:

As a Ulead COOL 3D version 2.5, 2.0, or 1.0 owner, you are eligible to upgrade to version 3.0. Unfortunately Ulead COOL 3D 2.5, 2.0, or 1.0 cannot be installed on a computer at the same time as version 3.0. So before installing 3.0 you'll need to first uninstall your earlier version as follows:

  1. First, export any custom presets in your EasyPalette you want to save from the previous version of Ulead COOL 3D (to save your custom presets, right-click on the preset thumbnail and Save As to your hard drive).
  2. Run the version 3.0 upgrade installer. When the program asks whether you want to uninstall your previous version of Ulead COOL 3D, select "Yes".
  3. Once version 3.0 is installed, import your custom presets by right-clicking on any thumbnail in the EasyPalette, and import your presets one by one. The presets will automatically be placed in the correct folder.
