Creating masks for your transition effects

Video projects usually consists of different video clips and adding a transition between clips not only ensures a smooth flow, but also makes your video look professional. There are plenty of ready-to-use masks in PhotoImpact that you can use as transition effects or you can use your own image as the mask transition effect.

  1. From EasyPalette, double-click or drag a selected mask or image to the workspace. Save the file in BMP format.

  2. In VideoStudio, switch to the Effect Step and then select Mask C from the Library drop-down list. Drag an effect to the Timeline, between the video clips.

  3. Click Customize in the Options Panel to open the Mask dialog box.

  4. Click the thumbnail under Current. Browse for the mask image created in PhotoImpact and then click OK. To view your video, switch to the Edit Step, click Project Mode and then click Play.
