Generating scene index of your DV tapes


The DV Quick Scan Digest generates a log of all the scenes of your DV tape after scanning it using DV-to-DVD Wizard. Scenes or video segments are distinguished by shooting date and time.

Saving your tape's DV Quick Scan Digest in DV-to-DVD Wizard serves as markers for your camcorder to automatically detect preferred video segments without having to scan to tape again.

 

To use DV Quick Scan Digest:

 
  1. Connect your camcorder to your computer and turn on the device. Set it to Play (or VTR/VCR) mode.
  2. Select a recording device under DV Device and file format for captured videos.
  3. Under Scene detection , select whether you want to start scanning tape from the beginning or the current position. VideoStudio will automatically rewind the tape if tape position is not in the beginning.
  4. Specify the scan speed and click Start Scan.
  5. After scanning the tape, click .
  6. Select Save DV Quick Scan Digest to save the scene digest in DV-to-DVD Wizard.

 

To open DV Quick Scan Digest:

 
  1. In DV-to-DVD Wizard, click .
  2. Select Open DV Quick Scan Digest.
  3. Browse for the .sca file you wish to open.
  4. Click Open to load the DV Quick Scan Digest.

    Note: Make sure that the camcorder is properly connected and that the tape corresponding to the DV Quick Scan Digest is inserted.

 

To save DV Quick Scan Digest as HTML:

 

Saving your DV Quick Scan Digest as HTML helps you manage large number of tapes by printing this HTML file and attaching it with your tapes. To save DV Quick Scan Digest as HTML after scanning your tape, click and select Save DV Quick Scan Digest as HTML.
