You can manually decide which detail level of
the image should be used in the result. To preserve highlight
area of the dark image, select Retain
original highlights then use the slider to set the
level. Or, click on the eyedropper and pick the desired
tone on the darker image. All pixels that are lighter than
this value in the dark image will be preserved in the final
image. Do the same process to preserve the dark areas on
the Lighter image.
To fine-tune the composition result, you can manually
adjust the Highlight, Midtone
or Shadow of the image. Or you
can click Auto to automatically
stretch the image tone. Click OK
when you're done.
Take a closer look at the resulting picture compared
to the original lighter and darker shots. Notice that both
highlights and shadows have been retained, which is impossible
in a single camera shot. Now you have all the components
that make for a perfect picture.
