Calibrating your custom camera curves with SmartCurves

Using advanced HDR imaging technology, SmartCurves helps you to correct the curve anomalies of your camera - making your images more vivid and brighter.

This tutorial also shows you how to create a camera curve.

To use SmartCurves:

  1. After opening the image you want to work on, select Photo: Light - SmartCurves.
  2. Select a camera curve from the Use camera curve list.
  3. Tip: You can create your own camera curve in the High Dynamic Range dialog box.

  4. Click OK.

To create and save a camera curve profile:

  1. Open the photos that were taken by your camera in various exposure levels.
  2. Select Photo: High Dynamic Range.
  3. In the Composition tab, select Auto generate camera curve.
  4. NOTE: If your photos retained the EXIF data recorded by the digital camera, the F-stop interval can automatically be detected based on the exposure time stored in data. Whereas if your images are non-EXIF images, you need to manually specify the F-stop interval between your images.

  5. Click Save as to save the camera curve profile.
  6. Click Compose to create an HDR image using the generated camera curve.
  7. Check the Use camera curve list in SmartCurves to see if you have successfully created a camera curve profile.

To import camera curve profiles in SmartCurves:

  1. In the SmartCurves dialog box, click Import.
  2. Browse for the camera curve profile file (*.ccf) and then click Open.
  3. Select the imported profile in Use camera curve list.
