Adding elements to an image using SmartRemove

SmartRemove is usually used to selectively paint out elements from multiple shots of the same scene, so you can compose an image with just the elements you want. However, it can also be used to expand your creativity, allowing you to create extraordinary images.

This image, for example, was created by brushing in elements through SmartRemove.

To add elements to an image using SmartRemove:

  1. Open the images that you want to use in PhotoImpact 11. You must have at least two EXIF images of the same image size, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO values. For the image above, we used four images.

Tip: Images without EXIF information may also be used, but the results may be limited.

  2. Select Photo:SmartRemove to open the dialog box.

  3. In Brush in/out objects, make sure that you have Brush in selected. Now, select an image from the Image List Panel and start brushing in elements that you want added to the final image.

For this image, we brushed in the part of the image where the person is, so that part would be retained in the final image.
