The first time you download photos to your computer with Photo Explorer, use the Digital Camera Wizard to choose your source device and set up destination folders where to place your photos.
- If you have more than one imaging device connected to your computer, in the Get images from section, click the link next to the Camera drive or card reader item to open the Select Image Source dialog box. Scroll through the list of drives and choose the desired digital camera or card reader.

Note: To copy images from a folder in your computer, select the Image folder item and click Browse to locate the source folder.
- In the Copy images to section, choose where you want to save photos in your computer.
If you want to save them in an Existing folder, select the first item. The Copy to Existing Folder dialog box then opens, prompting you to save photos in the Current browser folder or to another folder of your choice.

Otherwise, to create subfolders for your photos, select the Create new folder in item. Click the link next to this item to select an existing master folder under which to put the subfolders. Then, specify how to create and name the subfolders:

- Select the Custom folder option to create a single subfolder for downloaded photos. Enter a folder name in the provided text box.
- Select the Folder named with option to create separate subfolders for photos. Click the link next to this option to open the Automatic Folder Naming dialog box and choose whether to create subfolders based on date only or both date and time when the photos were downloaded to your computer.

To add a descriptive name at the end of the subfolder name, select the Append specified suffix every time option. Then click OK to close the Automatic Folder Naming dialog box, and type the desired descriptive name in the suffix name text box.
Note: Next time you want to download photos to the exact same folder, select the Same folder as last time option.
- If you want to remove all photos from the memory card after copying them to your computer, select the Delete files after successful transfer option.
- It is recommended that you select the Renumber images to ensure every file name is unique option. This renumbers file names starting from '1' the first time you download photos to a folder. Then the next time you download photos to the same folder, Digital Camera Wizard will continue the numbering sequence where it left off.
