The Ulead HD Plug-in 2.0 Workflow

Step Three : Output

All MediaStudio Pro 7’s editing functions are available to you when editing HDV. Real-time performance will not be the same as DV, however, due to the higher bit rates. When you have completed your edit and are ready for output, you have some choices:

  1. If you want to output to DVD, you can go to Create/Video File and select one of the DVD templates to create a DVD-compliant MPEG 2 file.

  2. If you want to keep the file in HDV (Program Stream), or write back to the HDV device (Transport Stream), then select the appropriate HDV template. This will create an .m2t file, which you could also bring into your favorite DVD Authoring tool, such as Ulead DVD Workshop, for authoring.
  3. If you would like to write your file back to your HDV device, do the following:
    • Make sure your device is connected and switched on, and there is a blank tape queued up
    • Select File/Export/DV Recording

      Select File/Export/DV Recording

    • Video Editor will find your device, and open the HDV Recording Preview Window
    • Preview the clip and click Next
    • Control your device to position the tape correctly
    • Next click on the Record button, and it will automatically switch your device to Record mode, and start writing the file to tape

      click on the Record button

Congratulations, you have just completed your first project in HDV, using Ulead MediaStudio Pro!
