Creating a Rolling Text (Movie Credits)

The common way to show the end credits in a movie is to use a rolling text effect. This tutorial shows you how you can create this effect for your video projects using the Title Clip tool in Video Editor.

To create a rolling text effect:

  1. Click Insert Title Clip in the Timeline window. The Insert Title Clip dialog box opens.

  1. In the Insert Title Clip dialog box, enter the text for the credits in the Title text window.

Tip: To make a new line, press [Enter].

  1. Adjust the text attributes by using the available options in the Font & Color panel.

Tip: Click Title Safe to see whether your text is still inside the visible area of monitors and television sets.

To use your media clip (e.g. video) on the timeline as the background for the title clip, clear Opaque Background.

  1. Click the Animation tab and under Type, select Fly.
  1. Select an animation preset from the Animation Gallery then click Customize.
