| Setting up MediaStudio Pro 7 display and performance |
MediaStudio Pro 7 has new Instant Play options for managing real-time playback to an NTSC or PAL monitor or tape deck. Before reading this tutorial, make sure you have configured your display card drivers correctly. Click here for help with Matrox or ATI display boards. |
- In the Preview Window, click the Preview Window Menu button and select Playback Options...
- Under the Instant playback options, choose Dual Head Device from the drop-down menu.
- If you are using Pentium 4 or AthlonXP machine, no matter it has dual processors or single one, check the Enable multi-threading box.
- Set the slider to zero and test the timeline playback performance. If there are drop-frames, move the slider up incrementally until no drop frames are seen. As the slider is moved up toward 10, a longer lag in playback response will be experienced as MediaStudio Pro spends more effort to pre-allocate tasks for smoother playback.
