Using COOL 360 to stitch your 12x12 pages together

Ulead Photo Express 4.0 - My Scrapbook Edition comes with stitching software called COOL 360. It allows you to stitch a series of photos and make 360-degree panorama using a series of photos. You can also use the program to stitch your scanned 12"x12" pages together and post the results to a web page or share them with your family via email.

To start, simply open My Scrapbook Edition and scan in each side of your 12"x12" scrapbook page. (If you want to share your page over the web, scan it at 72dpi. If you want to use the page and print multiple copies, we suggest you scan it at a higher resolution of at least 300dpi.) For the purpose of this tutorial, we are assuming you're going to share it over the Web. After your scan each side, save them as a .jpg file.

Open COOL 360

1. Select New File . The New Project Wizard will pop up.

2. Under the Project Type, select Wide Angle Panorama. Name your project in the Project Name field and select the Location of where you want to save your stitched page.

3. Click on the Next button in the Wizard.

4. In the left window, scroll to find the folder where you saved each side of your scanned 12"x12" page.

5. In the right side window, select each side of your page. Hold down the Control key to select each side of your page at the same time. Or, simply select the first half of the scan and hit the Add button. Then select the second half of the scan and hit the add button again.

Another window below will appear to show each side of your scanned page. Use this window to arrange your scans correctly. If they are not in the correct position to "stitch together", simply select the Arrange thumbnails in reverse order button (4th button from the left).

6. Click on the Next button.

7. COOL 360 will automatically stitch both sides together. In the upper right hand corner of the Wizard, under Stitching Options, check the box that says Disable Warping. Select the Generic Camera selection on your Camera Lens choice.

8. Click on Finish.

9. COOL 360 will bring your finished project into the workspace. Select the Finish/Step 3.

10. The last and final step is to decide how you want to share your page. You can save it, email it, or even create a web page or screen saver.
