Using Text Special F/X

6. To resize or rotate the text use the control handles on the corners or along the sides of the bounding box. Use the round corner control handles to rotate, and use the square corner handles to resize while maintaining proportionate dimensions.

7. To move the text either drag it or use the arrow keys on your keyboard.

Now that you've created some text, add some pizazz with apply special text effects. The example below uses the Chisel effect.

1. On the Menu Command Bar, select Edit > Text > Special F/X > Chisel. The Chisel options will open in the Options panel.

2. Double click a preset option to see how it looks with your text.

3. Click Advanced mode to switch the Options panel to Advanced mode.

4. Click the color square to open a menu of Color Pickers, from which you can select the color you want.

5. If you want to make any other changes to the effect, you may do so by adjusting the sliders.

6. Click Apply.

The Chisel style you selected will be applied to the text in the workspace.

Congratulations! You've just transformed an ordinary block of text into an eye-catching caption. If you'd like you can continue adding other objects to your page, otherwise, print out your creation so you can cut and paste it onto a page in your scrapbook.
