Creating a new template
First, you'll need to create a blank template on which to place your text. (Think of the template as your 'canvas').
1. Select File > New > New Template. |
 |
2. In the New Template dialog box that appears, select a layout type. For this tutorial, we selected Portrait.
3. Select a standard paper size from the Standard drop down menu. We selected Letter 8.5 x 11 inch.
4. Click OK.
The new template will appear in your workspace, and you will automatically be switched to Project mode. |

Adding text to your project
Now that the new template is ready, you can add text.
1. From the Menu Command Bar, select Edit >Text > Add/Edit. The Add/Edit dialog box will appear. |
 |
2. Enter your text in the space provided at the top of the Options panel.
3. Select the Style and Alignment you want to use by clicking the icons just under the Text entry box.
4. Select a Font from the drop down menu.
NOTE: The color of the text will change when you apply the special effect later.
5. Make sure Enter new text is selected, then click Apply.
The text will appear in the workspace. |
