Creating a Pop-up Menu in Menu.Applet

A Pop-up Menu is displayed in a fixed position while its submenus appear as pop-ups. Unlike a Slider menu, its submenus do not expand or collapse with a click of the mouse.

The most challenging aspect of creating a Pop-up Menu is combining independent items into one whole design, which will suit your specific need. This can be easily achieved with the new Ulead Menu.Applet program that's fun to use, saves time, and can assure you of error free Web designing.

Here's how to create a Pop-up menu applet:

A. First, select File: New. Then in the New Applet dialog box, select Pop-up Menu and click New.

B. Specify the general attributes of your applets in the Applet Panel.

1. In General tab, enter 500 for Width and 200 for Height. For Pop-up speed, enter 10.

2. Select Smooth pop-up box for your submenus so that it will scroll more fluidly.

3. Clear the Separator line box so that there will not be lines between sub-items.

4. In the Background tab, you can set the color and select the image file you want to use as background.

In this tutorial, use pop3BG.gif in the Images folder of the Menu.Applet program.
