Creating custom navigation buttons using PhotoImpact

Use PhotoImpact to create custom navigation buttons for your menus.

  1. Select File: New - New Image. For the size of the image, use a size that has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (e.g. 400 x 300 pixels).

  2. Use PhotoImpact's tools to create your navigation buttons. Make sure that the navigation button object is an image object. To convert to an image object, select Object: Convert Object Type.

If you used two or more objects to create your navigation button, merged them as a single object. To merge as a single object, select Object: Merge as Single Object.

  3. Open the Layer Manager by clicking Layer Manager in the Panel Manager.

  4. In the Layer Manager, change the object name to the type of button you created. Refer to the table below for the names to use:

You have just created a navigation button that you can use for your DVD Workshop menu. To use this navigation button, load the navigation button into the DVD Workshop Library. In DVD Workshop, go to the Menu Step then in the Library, select Button - General in the Library list. Click Load Navigation Button Template File and in the Load Navigation Button Template File dialog box, locate the file then click Open.
