Creating a custom mask
|
- Select File: New - New Image. For the size of the image, use a size that has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (e.g. 400 x 300 pixels).
- Use PhotoImpact's tools to create your mask. Make sure that the mask is an image object. To convert to an image object, select Object: Convert Object Type.
If you used two or more objects to create your mask, merge them as a single object. To merge as a single object, select Object: Merge as Single Object.
- Open the Layer Manager by clicking
in the Panel Manager.
- In the Layer Manager, change the mask object name to Scene.
- Select File: Save. Save the image as a UFO file.

You have just created a mask that you can use for your DVD Workshop menus. To use this mask, load the mask into the DVD Workshop Library. In DVD Workshop, go to the Menu Step then in the Library, select Frame - General in the Library list.
Click Load Frame File and in the Load Frame File dialog box, locate the file then click Open. |
Creating a custom mask using another image editing program |
- You can create your mask file using another image editing program. After creating your mask, save it in the PSD file format. If you used two or more objects to create your mask, merged them as a single object first before saving it as a PSD file.
- Open the file in PhotoImpact. When you open the file, the Open PSD File dialog box opens. In the dialog box, select Open each layer as an object.

- Open the Layer Manager by clicking
in the Panel Manager.
- In the Layer Manager, change the mask object name to Scene.
- Before saving the file, check if the base image is showing. To check, select View: Base Image.
- Select File: Save. Save the image as a UFO file.
