Creating masks for your menu objects using PhotoImpact


Use PhotoImpact to create a custom mask or use an existing mask in PhotoImpact's EasyPalette for your menu buttons and objects.

Using existing masks in the EasyPalette


  1. Select File: New - New Image. For the size of the image, use a size that has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (e.g. 400 x 300 pixels).

  2. Open the EasyPalette by clicking EasyPalette in the Panel Manager.

  3. In the EasyPalette, select Object Libraries: Mask Library. Click "+" to open the available libraries.

  1. Select a mask from the Mask Library then drag it to the new image.

  1. Select Selection: Convert to Object. This makes the mask seem to disappear from the image. To see the mask, select Edit: Fill. The color you use does not affect the properties of the mask.

  1. Open the Layer Manager by clicking Layer Manager in the Panel Manager.

  2. In the Layer Manager, select the mask object then change the object name, by clicking it, to Scene.

  1. Select File: Save. Save the image as a UFO file.
