Menu Transition using Playlists

A powerful new feature in DVD Workshop 2 is the ability to create Playlists. A Playlist is a sequence of movies, menus and chapter points linked to a menu button. When a menu button is selected, its Playlist is activated. A Playlist can sequentially play a combination of items without duplicating assets. This saves disc space and allows for more creative navigation. In this tutorial we will create a menu transition (interstitial) using the Playlist feature.

1. Go to the Menu Step in DVD Workshop 2

2. In the Video Library, either import a video you can use as a background for your menu or drag one of the videos in the video library to the Menu List area at the bottom of the interface where it says “Insert Object or Menu here”.

3. At the bottom, switch to Title List mode by clicking on the tab on the left side. From the Library, drag-and-drop the video you want to use as the transition video to the Title List. Drop it in the space that says “Drop Image or Video Clip Here” (New Title).
