Correcting Digital Photos with ExpressFix

Example Two: Faces

Beautify Skin is one of the most useful tools in PhotoImpact because it allows you to quickly fix skin imperfections. For the second part of this tutorial, we will show you how to make perfect skin in just a few clicks.

Step One:

Open the file Baby.jpg, then select Photo: ExpressFix.

Step Two:

Add a soft blur by clicking Focus on the Steps list. Click Custom, then click the Softer focus thumbnail once.

Step Three:

Click Beautify Skin, then select Apply with following settings.

Step Four:

Click Zoom in repeatedly until you see a larger view of the subject's face. Click Pan image , then drag the image to center the subject's face in the preview window.

Step Five:

Using the Eyedropper , click on the subject's face in the left image to select a skin tone. Level determines the intensity of the effect. For the sample image, we will set the value to 7 to produce a clear and smooth skin. Click OK to apply the enhancement.
