Creating disc labels using LightScribe™ and Labelflash™ technologies

Create professional-looking disc labels in DVD MovieFactory using LightScribe™ and Labelflash™ technologies. These advanced disc labeling systems allow you to burn label designs directly onto your DVD discs, giving you more permanent and impressive-looking labels compared to traditional stickers.

To create LightScribe™ and Labelflash™ labels, you need:

1. A disc burner that supports LightScribe™ or Labelflash™

2. A recordable disc media that was specially developed for use with LightScribe™ or Labelflash™

Using these systems, the image is laser-etched 0.6mm deep onto a specialised dye layer on the label side of the disc. The same laser used for recording data is used to print the image.

In this tutorial, we will learn how to create a disc label using LightScribe™ or Labelflash™.

To print disc labels using LightScribe™ and Labelflash™:

  1. After your LightScribe™- or Labelflash™-compliant burner is detected, record your video or data onto the recording side of the disc.
  2. When done, flip the disc and place it back on to your burner with the labeling side face down.
  3. Select the LightScribe™ or Labelflash™ icon on the Launcher.
  4. Add your text and images and select label quality.
  5. Print your label.

The printing process varies from 5 minutes (draft) to 30 minutes (high quality). It is best to evaluate your needs carefully before choosing print quality.
