Less is More: Quick editing with Multi-trim

Captured some great video of the kids at the pool? Trimming out those inevitable shaky or blurry shots will make it even more fun to watch. DVD MovieFactory's Multi-trim lets you select just the parts you want, toss out the rest, and create one smooth, uninterrupted video to enjoy.

In this tutorial, you will find out how easy it is to trim a video clip into multiple segments and save a new edited version in Multi-trim Video. You may download and use this video: KidsSample.wmv which has a lot of shaky and blurry parts. You may also use your own video file.

Begin by creating a new project. Then add your video file by clicking in the Add/Edit Media page. Browse and select the video file in the Open Video File dialog box and click Open. A thumbnail of your video is inserted in the Media clip list.

Step 1: Open and preview your video clip in Multi-trim Video

1. Select the video thumbnail in the Media clip list and click Multi-trim Video.

2. This opens the Multi-trim Video dialog box with your selected clip.

1 Timeline Zoom
2 Jog Bar
3 AccuCut Timeline
4 Navigation Controls

You can preview your clip by dragging the Jog Bar or by using the standard navigation controls. The AccuCut Timeline displays the frames of your video. A red line marks your current frame.

To determine mark-in and mark-out points more accurately, zoom in up to the 1 frame(s) level by dragging up the Timeline Zoom. Every single frame of your video is displayed and red corner markers indicate your current frame.

You can now start trimming your video into multiple segments and extract the parts that you want to keep.
