How to use Multi-trim (AccuCut) to trim your video precisely

DVD MovieFactory's Multi-trim editor features the AccuCut scrubbing controls that allow you to do frame-by-frame editing. This means you can remove unwanted parts in your video more precisely.

In this tutorial, you will learn how easy it is to use the AccuCut feature. Before we begin, download and save this sample video file in your local drive.

The first step is to start a new project. In the Add/Edit Media step, click Add video files. Browse and select sample_video_file.wmv in the Open Video File dialog box. Click Open to add it to your project.

If you play the video, you will notice that the scene showing a couple was interrupted in the middle by an unrelated scene showing a child. Let us remove this part by using Multi-trim.

Click Multi-trim video to open the Multi-trim Video dialog box. Drag the Jog Bar to preview the clip. The red marker shows your location.

You can zoom in to your video by moving the zoom control up to the 1 frame(s) level. This shows every frame of your video.

Drag the Jog Bar to the start of the clip so that the marker falls accurately on the first frame. Press [F3] to set it as starting point.

Drag the Jog Bar to the last frame of the scene that we will retain. You can click Go to previous frame or Go to next frame to locate the exact frame and press [F4] to set it as ending point. A blue border marks your selection.

Drag the jog bar to the part after the scene showing the child. Locate the first frame where the scene showing couple continues and press [F3] to set it as starting point.

Then go to the last frame of the video and press [F4] to set it as ending point.

You’re done! Click Play trimmed video to view the results. If everything is perfect, click OK.

Remember! For clean and professional-looking trims, the Multi-trim editor’s AccuCut feature is always at hand!
