If you are using an analog source like a VCR, and the video does not instantly play on the Preview Window, click Show Options Panel. Click Advanced Settings and select Video and Audio Capture Property Settings.
NOTE: Skip this step if you are using a DV camcorder through a FireWire (IEEE-1394) card.
Set the appropriate options in the Video and Audio Capture Property Settings dialog box. Select Video Composite as your Input Source if your VHS is connected through an RCA cable or Video S-Video when using an S-Video cable. Check if the selected Audio Input Source is the appropriate one and click OK.
Click the time duration to set the video length to be recorded.
If you are using a DV camcorder, you have two options for capturing. You can either capture the full length of the DV tape or specify the particular portions of the video to capture.
