Importing Animation Projects from COOL 3D™ Production Studio into MediaStudio Pro.

Jump cut videos are used as transition between two videos, and are usually used by news channels to quickly change from one topic to another. Using COOL 3D™ Production Studio you can create a stunning jump cut animation and easily apply it to your project in MediaStudio Pro.

In this tutorial we will re-create the jump cut video in the prime network sample shown below.

Before starting this tutorial, please download the primenetwork.zip and unzip to your local drive. This contains the COOL 3D file and video clip used in the tutorial.

The elements of the logo are already created; we will just arrange the objects by adjusting the position, scale, and orientation of the objects to create the logo.

To begin this tutorial, open the file primenetwork_objects.c3d in COOL 3D™ Production Studio. Let's start by creating the logo. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Arrange the objects to form the Logo.

Select the PRIME text object in the Object Manager. In the Timeline window, select Position in the Attribute List. Then, select frame 1 on the Ruler Bar.

Enter the values for the x-, y-, z-axis on the Location Toolbar using x=-13, y=29, z=0. Repeat these steps for the remaining objects and use the following values:

    •   for the PRIME background object use x=-14, y=21, z=0

    •   for the Network text object use x=-19, y=-44, z=0
For the Scale attribute of the objects, select Scale in the Attribute List, and frame 1 on the Ruler Bar. Enter the Scale value for each object using the following values for x-, y-, z- axis on the Location Toolbar:

    •   for the Prime word object use x=102, y=58, z=92

    •   for the Prime background object use x=46, y=46, z=46

    •   for the Network word object use x=61, y=36, z=100

For the Orientation, set all values for each object to zero.

After positioning the objects to form the logo, group them so that they will behave as one object. To do this, select all the objects in the Object Manager, and then click . The Pivot Setting dialog box will open. Select Center of all subgroup's mesh bounding, then click OK.

Tip: To select multiple objects, press [Ctrl] then click the objects.

Now that PRIME logo is created, we will animate it. To create the animation we need to set the keyframes for the logo.
