Exporting a Video Frame to be used as Video Overlay

COOL 3D™ Production Studio has the flexibility of letting you export animation as Video Overlay. A video created in COOL 3D™ Production Studio can then be superimposed onto another  Video by using  any a  video.  Since  Ulead  has a variety of video editors (VideoStudio, Media Studio Pro, DVD Movie Factory, DVD Workshop), this tutorial will cover the basics of how to create something in COOL 3D™ Production Studio to use as video overlay using Ulead VideoStudio.

  1. Open COOL 3D™ Production Studio and create a new project.

  1. In the EasyPalette open the Composition node and go to Video Frames. Double-click the Metalworks video frame.
If you can't find the EasyPalette you might not have it on. Click View: Toolbars Manager > Easy Palette to open it.
  1. Export the Video Frame as overlay by Opening the File > Export Video Overlay> AVI.
  1. The 'Save as Video File' panel will open. Name your file: 'Overlay_Frame' and save it as an AVI file.
    Depending on the processor speed of your computer, rendering the overlay file could take a minute or two.
  1. Our work in COOL 3D™ Production Studio is now complete. Now open Ulead VideoStudio.

    Open your video you have created in VideoStudio. We will add the COOL 3D™ Production Studio overlay file in the Overlay step.
  1. If you already have a Video Studio project that you want to add overlay to open it.
    Otherwise create a new project and add a main video track to your workspace.
The overlay that you have created with COOL 3D can be placed over any video.

    At the top of the Video Studio window select the Overlay tab.
  1. While in the Overlay step, click the Insert Media Files button.
  1. Select Add Video.
The Open Video Panel will appear. Browse to the location where you placed the file Overlay_Frame.avi.
  1. The overlay track that you created in COOL 3D will appear in the overlay track.
  1. Press the Preview Button in order to Preview your Video Project.

    You will see your video overlay in action placed over the main video in your project.
