Creating Banner Text Effect with Applet Image Background

To learn to add cool banner text effects to applets, let's create a sample:

1. Select File > New on the Menu Command Bar of Animation.Applet.

2. In the applet's Properties dialog box, click Background tab and select Image file from the drop-down list. Select an image file (Te_HS01.jpg) for the applet's background in the browse mode. Click Open.

NOTE: You can replace your background by clicking the folder icon to choose a new image file in the browse mode.

3. Click on the Layout Toolbar to display the selected applet's background in the workspace.

4. In the applet's Properties dialog box, click the General tab and adjust the dimension of the applet to fit the image. For our Te_HS01.jpg image file under the Images folder, enter 420 and 40 in the W and H boxes.
