Click and drag in the workspace to select the area that you want to keep. Double-click in the workspace to commit the crop. Alternatively, press Ctrl-R.
Cropping photos to show the right picture
Press Ctrl-G to open the Resize dialog. Reduce the size of your image by percentage, size or number of pixels.
TIP: Use the Preview area of the dialog as a guide to determine how large your photo should be. Most PowerPoint presentations are either 1024x768 or 800x600.
Apply Border Masks to Photos
Click on the EasyPalette button in the Standard Toolbar.
Click on the Library Manager button in the EasyPalette.
Expand the Mask Library option and select the Irregular category.
Select a mask. This tutorial uses the "109" mask.
TIP: Right-click on the mask thumbnail and select Fit Mask to apply the mask to the entire photo.
Double-click on the mask thumbnail to apply the mask to the photo in the PhotoImpact workspace.

Press F4 to open the Image Optimizer dialog

TIP: Try using different border masks in PhotoImpact for different effects. The additional example to the left shows an alternative border mask.
Select the PNG button at the far left of the dialog box and PNG True Color from the Preset section.
Click the Transparency check box.
Save the new PNG file for PowerPoint.
Import the photo into PowerPoint from the Menu Bar:Insert > Picture > From File
