Demonstrates Double-Layer DVD Recording Technology At CeBIT
Torrance, CA - March 24, 2004 –
Ulead Systems, Inc., a leading developer of digital image,
video and DVD software, recently announced at CeBIT that the
full range of Ulead DVD and video software will support double-layer
DVD disc burning technology.
Developed by Ulead’s Research & Development team,
the company’s new double layer DVD technology supports
the needs of both DVD drive makers and consumers worldwide.
By providing double the recording capacity on a single disc,
8.5GB, or four hours of DVD-quality video, consumers will
be able to record personal videos and backup data to disc
maintaining a larger file size and therefore higher quality.
"By supporting this double-layer DVD technology, Ulead
is embracing a new era of DVD creation,” said Samuel
Wu, director of Video/DVD Research & Development at Ulead
Systems. “By integrating double-layer technology in
such products as DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator we aim to
complement DVD drive makers worldwide with software that suits
their customers’ DVD burning needs.”
"Our timely response to the growing global demand for
DVD storage reaffirms Ulead’s position at the forefront
of DVD technology,” said Way Zen Chen, chairman and
president of Ulead Systems. “We will continue to be
a trail blazer among digital media software manufacturers
to support OEM partners with the latest technology, while
at the same time maintaining the ease of use and full feature
set our software is known for."
